The Apostolate of the Divine Mercy was founded in August 21, 2000 when a group of lay people and members of the clergy from the Archdiocese of Miami committed themselves to spread the message of the Divine Mercy, just as the Lord had asked St. Maria Faustina in the 1930's of the last century. It was recognized, approved and blessed by His Excellency John Clement Favarola, Archbishop of Miami, who appointed Deacon Rafael de los Reyes as Spiritual Director on August 27, 2001.
